The Inhaca Island Tailor Made Tour is a perfect option for beach and nature lovers.
The island just 30 miles east of Maputo. Most part of its territory is a protected reserve and it is home to a huge diversity of fauna and flora. The major highlights are Ponta de Sta. Maria where you can experience one of the best snorkeling experiences in Mozambique.
Farol Beach, known for its immense sand dunes and pristine waters, and of course the outstanding light-house.
Ilha dos Portugueses, a small island that you must visit before MSC cruises take it over for good. 🙁
And, most of all, the main island, its people and the slow pace of time going by while you enjoy see food and have a drink.
We can arrange a tailor-made trip for you with Mussiro flavor, of course, with or without accommodation on the island. Just contact us on the form at the side.
With a population of around 6000 people, Inhaca is a genuine destination at the gates of Maputo.
The diversity of eco-systems, from the beaches of the bay to the beach of open sea on the side of the lighthouse, together with the fact that it is considered a reserve and therefore have many construction restrictions, makes it still an undiscovered treasure.
The difficulty of access also contributes to make it such an authentic destination. There is a public boat that crosses the 30 km between Maputo and Inhaca daily, and there are some private boats that can be rented.
Mussiro Trips organizes trips to Inhaca but, depending on the group, we also recommend that you take the tour independently and we are happy to help with advice and tips on what to do, where to stay, and with whom to talk.
Tours to in Inhaca are always worth it, whether they are 1 day or 10 days, it is one of those places that have much to explore, but that a day trip will also be memorable.
Between September and December it is very common to see whales during the crossing because they enter the bay of Maputo every year by that time.
